The Gods have now forgotten us. Not because we drench our thirst with ruby wine and devour delicious red meat - for they themselves feast upon ambrose and nectar.
It is rather because we've made our world one in which ignorance, stupidity and inefficiency
thrive. It's because whatever we do, we just can't stick to our morals... however tinted white or black they might be.
As such they've lost interest in boring worldly matters and started having a bit of fun amongst themselves.
And pharaohs, monarchs, kings and czars
Their minds are so benighted
And holly saints smoke crack cigars
Their urges reignited
And wise old seekers of the stars
Their visions are so blighted
Torridly Venus touches Mars
The Heavens storm delighted
As grown men cry in utter shame
To Gods they’d long forgotten
And children hate and curse and blame
Their soul and dreams now rotten
As women scream of their cruel fate
With chains that pierce around their necks
… as Death will always be too late
Zeus and Hades flex
The deserts, now moist
No more dunes
The oceans are but valleys
And cities drenched in foul fumes
The rivers are but alleys
Democracy is but a word
Long-gone are the ideals too lofty
They are all slaves without a lord
And Hermes sleeps so softly
The moon and sun are too confused
They see each other every day – no longer one running away
And time and space are so abused
The sky is grey, the stars are black
And demons are taken aback
And there’s delusion in the air
And calmly Hera combs her hair
They all pain - Father Time no longer there
As ghost of past make sure your mind is fed
They all feel Nature seething in despair
As no tree is ever more alive than dead
They all ask why… how could this be?
As bitter poison’s now the morning dew
They all hear Eris full of glee
“This time around we’ve lost our faith in you”
Stii ca o poezie e buna cand poate fi prezentata ca sustinand orice viziune politica/religioasa/personala (?) :D
